    Edvard Munch (1863–1944)
Edvard Munch was a Norwegian painter and printmaker whose work profoundly influenced modern art. His style combined Symbolism and early Expressionism, exploring themes of love, anxiety, and death. Munch’s most famous painting, The Scream (1893), became an icon of existential fear and human emotion. Throughout his career, he experimented with color, composition, and psychological depth, paving the way for generations of modern artists across Europe.
