Carlos Leal, born in 1969 in Lausanne, is widely recognized as the lead singer and founder of the
music group Sense Unik. He achieved great success with the band before emigrating to Los Angeles
15 years ago, where he transitioned into acting. Leal has appeared in numerous films and television
series, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he turned his long-standing passion for photography into a focused endeavor, working intensively on his first series of
documentary photography that captures life in Los Angeles. Titled "Shadows and Shores of Hope,"
this exhibition marks Leal's first major solo show in Switzerland, presented by PYTHONGALLERY in Zürich.

The theme of the exhibition sheds light on the challenges faced by American cities, portraying the
contrast between the struggles of the homeless and drug-addicted individuals—often referred to as "zombies"—and the opulence of wealthy residents. Leal's photographs are not
only poignant and thought-provoking but also resonate with a sense of poetry and aesthetic beauty.

In the past, Carlos Leal exhibited in galleries in Paris and his work were acquired by private
collectors and institutions. His artistic journey continues to inspire and provoke reflection on the
    complexities of urban life.
