We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on Leila Merbert, an accomplished Art lecturer who has been an integral part of our gallery.

She was born and raised in Italy where Leila studied ancient literature and archaeology. She worked as a teacher, journalist and editor in New York City and Switzerland.

1863 stands as a turning point in art history—the dawn of modernity, and with it a new way to make art, to think about art, and to see the world. It is the wellspring of what would later be called the avant-garde. Together we’ll trace the key moments, innovations, and artists who opened this new chapter.”
